The Canelo Project I've just arrived at the Canelo Project in Tuscan Arizon where I'm attending an amazing 7-day workshop called "Artistry with Clay and Lime". The Canelo Project is a small non-profit organization, that Bill and Athena Steen founded in 1989. An old adobe ranch house surrounded by a complex of buildings made of cob, adobe, and straw bale then finished with amazing varieties of earth plasters. In short it's a plethora of beautiful earth buildings that are as much art work as structure. A earth builder's paradise. I'm excited to learn new techniques and ways of working with earth plasters as well as coming back to New Zealand with lots of inspiration and ideas!
