Our class project
We're building a seat with a special feature.  A built-in bee house/ observatory with amp for listening to them.  It's designed for indigenous solitary twig nesting bees.  So individual bees. No hives.

The purpose is to raise awareness and get to know these mysterious bees while providing a nice place to sit.

The Canelo Project
I've just arrived at the Canelo Project in Tuscan Arizon where I'm attending an amazing 7-day workshop called "Artistry with Clay and Lime".

The Canelo Project is a small non-profit organization, that Bill and Athena Steen founded in 1989.  An old adobe ranch house surrounded by a complex of buildings made of cob, adobe, and straw bale then finished with amazing varieties of earth plasters. In short it's a plethora of beautiful earth buildings that are as much art work as structure. A earth builder's paradise.

I'm excited to learn new techniques and ways of working with earth plasters as well as coming back to New Zealand with lots of inspiration and ideas!
